Synopsis:In this novella, Will Sumner and Hanna Bergstrom (from Beautiful Player) find that a wedding and everlasting love were just the beginning. One Player tamed. One nerd girl satisfied. And one more major life decision to make. When Will fell for Hanna, her quirky sense of humor and fierce dedication to her career were part of the attraction. (Not to mention her coy newbie attitude toward sex and her willingness to let him teach her everything.) But when the job offers start rolling in for her—and oh, they do—Hanna has trouble deciding what she wants, where they should live, and how much she should burden Will with the decision. Magic between the sheets is only one part of a relationship...getting on the same page is quite another altogether.
Series: Beautiful Bastard #4.5
Favorite Quote: My favorite quote or segment, in this case, was the entire comic book conversation. I don't want to spoil any bit of it or take any part out of context here.
Rating: 3/5 delighful stars.
Review: To start with, with these in betweener novellas, I don't usually give them more than a 3 star rating. Doesn't mean they are bad, but they are not integral to a storyline and are more like an extended epilogue. I don't usually read many of them either because, unless they are free online releases, they just cost too much to be worth what is gained... (an exception to this is author Darynda Jones, whose mini stories are mainly released for free and actually give inside and sometimes important information about her characters...just an fyi)... Will and Hanna, however, are my favorite couple from this series, therefore I really wanted to read this novella.
The story was fun and had some genuine conflict with our main characters to resolve. I enjoyed it, some moments warranted a chuckle and left a smile on my face because it's the same old Hanna and Will. It's sweet, but like I said, it's a short novella, so there's not much more I can review. Probably only for the die-hard fans of the series.
The most notable take-away from Beautiful Boss, is probably the frequent appearance and mention of Hanna's brother, who is looking like he'll be the leading man in the final full length novel of this series, due out later this year.
